American Organ Music, a Workshop

Dr. Jeannine Jordan presented American Organ Music, An Organ Workshop on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Advent Lutheran Church in Brevard, Florida.  The workshop, sponsored by the Space Coast Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, was attended by a group of organists eager to learn more of our American musical heritage.  The workshop in a lecture/concert format presented not only the the organ music of American composers from as early as 1711 to the present day, but wove in the historical aspects of our country and how music developed in parallel to that history.

Why From Sea to Shining Sea?

“Outstanding concert this evening at First United Methodist Church in Moorestown, NJ.  We were very impressed with the entire From Sea to Shining Sea presentation — the visual shots of still pictures, camera angles, narration, musical (and other) history of the Colonial Period of the U.S. up to the present time. What an excellent educational/musical presentation of a quick and concise history of the organ in the U.S. Thank you so much. We look forward to your next presentation when it’s completed- Around the World in 80 Minutes.  Bruce Smith, Moorestown, NJ

From Sea to Shining Sea in Fort Smith

We had a grand time sharing our organ and multi-media concert experience, From Sea to Shining Sea, the story of the organ coming to America, on Sunday, November 13th at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  We were privileged to be a part of the Mary McDonald Organ Series, celebrating the work and dedication of this fine musician.  Barry Law, Director of Music, was a most welcoming host, the organ was well-suited to the music of America, and the audience was enthusiastic and enjoyed the history of America!S2SS Old Log

On the road again with From Sea to Shining Sea

S2SS logoJeannine and David Jordan had the privilege of presenting their organ and multi-media concert experience, From Sea to Shining Sea, to a variety of audiences in Des Peres (St. Louis), Missouri, Moorestown, New Jersey and Akron and Athens, Ohio.

Invited for a return concert engagement following audience-winning performances of the organ and multi-media concert, Bach and Sons, the Jordans returned with From Sea to Shining Sea to the Music at St. Paul’s Concert Series at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Des Peres, Missouri and to the First United Methodist Church of Moorestown, New Jersey.  The Moorsetown concert was sponsored by an anonymous donor and the Southwest New Jersey AGO Chapter.

This spring, Ohio saw two performances of From Sea to Shining Sea. The Akron Chapter of the AGO and The Parish Arts Series of Fairlawn Lutheran Church in Akron Ohio, were co-sponsors of the program in April.  In June, a performance on the Organ Recital Series at The First Presbyterian Church of Athens was presented in celebration of Janice Robison’s 45th anniversary as organist of the church. This well-attended concert included fifty high school students. These students were a part of the University of Ohio Summer Band Camp. For many, this was their first time experiencing a pipe organ. What a thrill it was to share the organ with these young musicians.

Following each of these concerts, it was the desire of the hosting organizations to include a second or third performance of the Jordan’s unique live organ and multi-media concerts in an upcoming season.  Visit www.bachandsons.com, www.fromseatoshiningsea.net or www.aroundtheworldin80minutes.org to discover why you’ll want to bring one of these unique concert experiences to your sophisticated audience in the coming season.
